Well, Dan got voted off in last night's BL show...I wondered when one of the guys would finally go. He will do great at home since he has really embraced healthier living. He's got the 'bug' if you will...
What is the 'bug'?
Well, it's when you eat even a little better and really FEEL how good that is. It's also when you dedicate yourself to getting your exercise in 3-5x per week and really FEEL how good THAT is!
Sometimes folks give up before they see changes and let the 'bug' get to them. You've seen it on the show, right? Folks who get voted off earlier in the season and aren't exactly embracing the healthy lifestyle when you seem them in the finale. It's heartbreaking for those of us who work hard everyday to help folks get on the healthier path. You feel like you just want to shake them and say, "Don't you get it? This is for YOU!!!"
I sometimes say that to you all in class..."You can *not* work hard, but I can work hard for myself, I push you for YOU...so YOU can feel your body work and know that you can do it."
The point is-don't give up before you get the 'bug'. Living healthier doesn't mean eating perfectly, looking perfectly or exercising on some rigid schedule; it just means doing your best with your eating 5 days a week, exercising on a schedule that works for you (but that you don't skip out on all the time!) and looking like your best self.
I mean, look at Dan from the show-the changes in his body are radical as are the changes in his attitude. He knows now that he can do anything he puts his mind to. He didn't realize that before.
Let yourself be open to all the possibilities in your life-no matter your age. Dream. Plan. Set goals. You can start by working on YOU, the outside, and you just might find that YOU, the inside, gets better too.
And don't get discouraged when you don't see changes overnight. Keep on plugging away-keep trying, do your best. Every class is another step in the journey to being healthier and remember,
Success is a journey, not a destination!
