Hi Everyone,
Well, it's now 11am and, while it is snowing lightly, it's not snowing to the level the weather people predicted last night....again they were wrong-SIGH! (They are still saying it will ramp up this afternoon so if you're planning on coming to classes this afternoon or tonight-call or check the website 1/2 hour prior to class time just in case...)
I needed to stop and get stamps today and I didn't feel like going into the 'big' Post Office either in Chelmsford or Westford so I stopped at a small country store in Westford that sells stamps. These places are few and far between but they are cool-selling everything from food to stamps to snow hats!
The lady was really nice, it was really quick (versus the 'real' Post Office where the postal workers move slower than most turtles) and she had me move over to a counter where there was an 'old time' window with those 'prison like' bars...it was nice to get my stamps quickly and support a small business too!
Anyway...I just thought I'd share a positive experience (it was Katie's Country Store in Westford) and put out a challenge to everyone to patronize SMALL, local businesses (uh, like the big J!!). When you own a family business like we do, it's not easy but we deeply appreciate every customer we have and that's NOT what goes on in those big chains.
Here's to small, local and family businesses and the care we truly feel for each of our customers!
Have a great day and hope to see you in class!
