Happy Periods?

Today is a bright, beautiful day and all I have to say is "Thank God" because yesterday...was a nightmare. All I'm going to say is "major leak in roof at studio, Owner almost loses mind... film at 11". Our roofer is due in first thing tomorrow. Please God.
Anyway, onto the subject at hand.
Ladies-what exactly is a "happy period"?
Last night in class we really needed to be silly (see the first paragraph of this post) and so someone said something about those TV ads touting the "Happy Period". (No worries, this is *not* a graphic post...) I picked that right up and I think we all agreed there is no such thing, unless your 11 or 12 years old and it's your first one. Then it's all about you 'becoming a woman' and all that crap.
Now, I am glad I'm a girl-believe me. I have no wishes to be a man (not that there's anything wrong with that...). Mr. P and P complains about having to shave his face (uh, we have to wax, laser or shave EVERYthing else buster...) and having to wear a tie. We, on the other hand have, well, 'periods' and, quite frankly, there's nothing 'happy' about it.
I do understand the marketing ploy-comfort, cleanliness...yada yada but, for real? Happy Periods?
N O.
What the hell is happy about cramps that cut you in half, back pain, emotional outbursts that come OUT OF NO WHERE and that feeling that every thing in the world is against you? MMMM? What is happy about it? Tell me...now!
I realize it's what allows women to have babies and, for that, I am grateful but still...happy? Nein.
For those of you who have never experienced a cramp nor pain of any kind surrounding your "ladies days" then...good for you. For the rest of us-I think I can safely say there's isn't a GD thing that's 'happy' about it...except the day it's over for the month!
