But, people, the Government has come out with a warning on Alli (that weightloss pill) and, it seems, it may be causing liver damage. (I say 'may' because they are still working on correlating it but there seems to be a pattern of people taking it and suffering liver damage. To be fair, the warning right now is for folks to continue to take it 'as directed'.)
Now look, I know we all want the 'quick fix'...we're used to drive thrus for coffee and food, ATMs for money and all that but you CANNOT quickly fix your fitness and weight. Could you get surgery? Yes, but that has it's own dangers. Can you starve yourself? Yes, but that will cause additional health problems. Can you take a pill? Yes, but as you can see (and over the years this has been proven out about other weightloss medications) it can seem ok for awhile when it's really causing damage to your body in the long term.
Please, for the love of God, stop doing this to yourselves and eat less and exercise. It sounds so simple but we all know it's not.
Come to class 3-5x per week, commit to YOU, eat well 5 days out of 7, get your family involved and you will be fit and healthy. It will take awhile (it took me about 1 year to get where I am now and I have maintained it for almost 20 years) but it will be a life change that works for your whole life!
See you in class!

Say What?!
Hi All and Happy Friday! TGIF! (subtext...I hope the GD Full Moon is OVER!)
Ok...
Now listen, I am ALL for education toys, fun toys and the like. I pride myself on being open minded because, hey, we're all on this planet to be happy, prosperous and enjoy life. So, you do your thing and I'll do mine and we'll all be happy! (I hope!)
Anyway, this week I heard about something which has closed my mind like a steel trap (no worries...just on this issue!)....and what might that be you say? That would be the breast feeding baby doll.
Yes, you read that correctly.
The doll comes with a little halter top with, uh, ahem, little flowers in a certain position that the little girl puts on. When the doll is held near the flowers it makes suckling noises and stops when it's full and time to be burped.
People...this must end. This doll is currently *not* available in the US so we're good so far but, seriously, do we need this doll? Should a little girl be playing this level of pretend? I, for one, think not.
I will say (as you all know) that I do not have kids but I do have 2 Godchildren, one of whom is a girl. I would be MORTIFIED if K bought little K (who is now too old for dollies anyway) this doll. NO I say, a thousand times NO. Am I being a prude? What do you think? Would you buy your child/grandchild/niece/godchild this doll?
Uh, would you?
Ok...

Qtips in Smart cars??
Hi and Happy Thursday to all!
So, today I was on my way to WF in Bedford and was enjoying having all the windows and sunroof in the MDX open and feeling the nice NON-humid air, when I spied a couple of troubling things...
First, a police car (with lights and sirens) was coming out of a side street so I stopped to let him out when a Qtip (aka a little, tiny oldster driving a car) almost rear ended me, then honked because, apparently, SHE COULDN'T SEE THE GD POLICE CAR I WAS STOPPING FOR. (Yes, I'm yelling there.)
Then, as I safely (thank God) made my way further towards WF, I spied a Smart Car (you know, those TEENY TINY cars that, seriously, could fit in the back of my SUV) with a Qtip driving it.
Now, people...that is just ASKING for trouble! The good part? If that Qtip in the Smart Car hits you, you'll probably be ok, since it's a glorified bicycle.
I'm sure you're wondering but, yes, I got home safely, not hit by any Qtips today...so far.
See you in class!

Skunk update and...
Hi All and Happy Wednesday!
The skunk smell was successfully eradicated by the afternoon class yesterday! My extensive measures to rid us of his odor worked and by the time the afternoon folks arrived, no one could smell it. Thank God!
Today's news holds a story about a shooting in a health club in PA. Our hearts, of course, go out to all the victims, their families and friends.
And, it just highlights the fact that life is very short. Many times we all get caught up with our lives...small things (like crazy Full Moon stuff) seems to take over and we focus on that, versus the larger picture.
News stories like this always make me think and re-evaluate. Yes, yesterday was crazy with Full Moon nuttiness....light bulbs burning out suddenly, tripping, forgetting things...but overall, a good day. Things work out and the bigger things in life are good (thank God, knock on wood...etc).
So, today after class, hug your family, be thankful for all you have and try not let the nuttiness of life take over!
Have a great day!

Do you believe...
In the pull of the Full Moon?
Weird question, huh?
Happy Tuesday to all...another beauty of a day and I was lucky to get about 1 hour at the pool today before getting down to biz here at the Center.
Full moon....beautiful and annoying.
In the last couple of days I knew it was coming. Why? Read on...
-One of our speakers starting 'popping' and usually this means it's something touching the wiring. I think I handled it with my low tech solution in the ceiling. It's really nothing, just annoying.
-Tried taking my shoes off after class last night and got one of them in such a knot I had to ask for helps from my clients. (Thanks Gwenn and Sandy) What adult cannot take their shoes off without getting them hopelessly tied in knots? Apparently me.
-Sometime last night a skunk decided he would leave his scent outside our Center. (OUTSIDE people...for those of you who were asking if we had a skunk IN the Center...Yeah, it's a pet. Seriously people get a grip.) Periodically wildlife will venture into our mall parking lot and we cannot control it. So, I've got fans going, the front door cracked open and candles going and lysol sprayed everywhere. So...deal. It'll be gone within a day.
-All of the above in addition to various trippings, dropping things and other assorted ridiculousness just heralds the arrival of the Full Moon.
So...be careful out there!

Improvising...
Happy Monday all!
Well, we have another beautiful (not that we've had that many but this is a good one...) day and things are busy, busy, busy at P&P...
We've got vacations to cover, monitorings to do and some summer fun to continue to have!
K and the kids are at the beach with their cousins and I'm here hanging with Lilly!
Yesterday, Mr. P&P announced we were going for ice cream mid-afternoon and who was I to argue?!
So, we packed Lilly in the car (she doesn't mind the car and does well, but Ally LOVED car rides...Lilly, we think, tolerates them to get, well, ice cream or to the beach) and off we went to Kimball's II

Now, that is a pic of Kimball's I (aka the Main Kimball's) but we do not go there due to the length of the lines (it can be an HOUR in line in the summer) even though it's mere seconds from our house. (Mr. P&P doesn't do 'waiting'...)
Anyway, we go to Kimball's II and I will not tell you where it is under pain of death. Why?! I don't want THOSE lines to get big...sorry! ;)
We arrive at Kimball's II and Mr. P&P settles on a chocolate chip cookie dough frappe and I, of course, decide to get a pint of chocolate peanut butter for the week. Lilly will get a 'dog sized' scoop (they actually have special paper dishes for the puppies) of vanilla.
I approach the window (NO line!!) and order. The nice boy behind the window tells me they are out of chocolate peanut butter (horrors!)...I say, "OK, how about chocolate chip peanut butter" (a variation on my fave). The nice boy says, "We're out of that too" WTF?
Ok, regroup here...stay calm...
I say, "Ok, I'll have a pint of chocolate and a container of the peanut butter topping".
As we drove home, I told Mr. P&P about the horror of them being out of my 2 faves and what I did to improvise...he said, "Good thinking dear!"
I thought so too!
And you know what?
It's GREAT that way! Chocolate ice cream with the peanut butter topping...GENIUS!
I think I'll have another bowl tonight after supper! (Oh and after kicking your tushes in Circuit!)
HAHA
