TGIF!

Hi All,
Well, it's cold and rainy out (did Mr. P&P say he saw snowflakes this morning?) but we'll have a lot of wonderful classes this weekend, hope you can join us!
It was a challenging week but coming to Friday has brought many WONDERFUL things!
I've spent some FB time trying to find some of my classmates from the Howard School in SB. I have located Randall P, Breck M and Ann A. (And I think Ann's sister Mary too) It's SO MUCH FUN to get in touch with these childhood friends.
Having moved so abruptly in 1977, I didn't have a chance to keep in touch with them and they are all a part of my happiest childhood memories. So, being able to catch up, learn about their lives and all that is so wonderful. When I messaged Breck he even had the spelling of my last name down, only missing 1 letter which is HUGE with a last name as long as mine!
I'm going to keep going and hope to catch up with more of my childhood friends. I used to say I didn't have any...but now I have them back and I'm so thrilled I cannot even tell you!
Tomorrow is Mel's screening (a formality before she returns to teaching with us) and I'm excited to see her, hug her and welcome her back to our crazy J family!
Hope you're all enjoying the day and see you in class!

Blessings abound...

Happy Friday everyone!
Well, we had a 90 degree day and now it's rainy and cool...ahh, New England.
Honestly though, we cannot complain. Why?
Well, let's see...
Mista got a new job! YIPPEE.
Mr. P&P got a raise! YIPPEE part deux.
Our wireless mics are not affected by the FCC channel changes (except our brand new Samson but, thankfully, the company is giving us a new one at no charge!).
And......drum roll please........................................................................................................
Mel is returning to teaching as of August!
As you know, 2 of our wonderful instructors need to move on and, thankfully, we have the new and fabulous KA, who had her first class last night! (And rocked it, BTW!) And now we will have BACK one of our terrific 'original' instructors!
Who is luckier than we are? NO ONE!
Sometimes blessings come when you least expect it but when you need it the most. And, when things fall into place (for everyone) at the perfect time you need to take a moment and enjoy it. That was me yesterday. I just took a few moments and thanked God and the universe for blessing us in so many ways.
And, sometimes the little blessings are there and we do not realize it-so look around!
We well know that most people do not get to do what they love most for a living. And, many folks have dreams that are never realized. We do what we love and our Center and staff and clients are a dream we had long ago. Did we know exactly how we'd get here? No. But, we did trust in ourselves that, together, we could build the perfect team, find the perfect place and draw the perfect clients. Yes.
And we have.
Thankful doesn't even cover what we are today.
So, let it rain, let it rollercoaster us between 90 and 59 degrees...as I sit here I know that I may never win the lottery but I'm one of the luckiest people I know. THANK YOU ALL!

Ahh Spring...

The flowers are starting to bloom, the sneezing has begun and it's the time when folks decide to say 'screw it' to exercise. And, it's the time every year when I ask myself 'Why?'...
Why would you work so hard, all winter, and then just stop coming to class?
Why would you give up on yourself so easily?

You know, it takes ONLY 6 SHORT weeks to lose all the work you've done all winter long. That's nothing in terms of time. It's a week of vacation that turns into a year of no exercise, feeling bad at yourself and having to start over. Every year it happens and it breaks my heart.

Why? Because the people who give up are those people we know we have not reached. We are here to not only help you build muscle and lose fat-we're also here to help you build self esteem and lose the negative language you use to describe yourself in your head. You don't deserve that. You deserve a life of feeling great about yourself and having a body that allows you to do all the things you want in life and, maybe, some things you thought you'd never do.

As most of you know, I took 5 years off J, got married, got fat and woke up one day and wondered what happened to ME? Then I got divorced, starting working out and eating better, started a new job and decided my first day of my new job would be my first day back at J. I remember sitting in the parking lot, wondering if I'd still like it, wondering if I'd be welcome (I was in a whole new State, I knew no one at this J location) and wondering if I could still DO it.
I stood in the back, big tee shirt and bike shorts (careful, that was the 'fashion' then) and made it through class with energy to spare. No one made me feel 'bad' when I told them I'd been out of J for a few years-they said 'welcome back'...you know, just like WE do here when YOU come back. I was re-hooked after that 1 class and have not been without J since...not for one day. That was in 1990. So, for 20 years I've not been without my J fix and I wouldn't have it any other way.

So, if you're reading this and YOU have been out of class for awhile-come on back. You'll get a warm welcome, a great class and you'll be SO glad you did it...for YOU.

Life is short, way too short to let yourself down by not taking care of yourself. You are worth it. Who is more fabulous than you? No one. So, come on back...you know you want to!

Monday

Hi All,
What a wonderful weekend! We hope you all had a nice holiday-for those celebrating Easter. And, for those celebrating Passover, we hope you are continuing to enjoy your holiday.

K and I have owned our business together almost 16 years and it's certainly never been boring! Change happens and, while we sometimes want to stop it, change does move us forward.

For now, we're saying 'so long' (not goodbye!) to 2 of our instructors:
KF has decided to go back to being a student for now. She has a very busy career and it can also be intense. We have already seen her on the dancefloor and look forward to that continuing!

PA has also decided to return to student-hood. She has a very busy family life with 2 wonderful kids whose schedules are growing by the day. We hope to have her on the dancefloor as well and we hope they will both change their minds one day and return to the stage. They will be sorely missed!

Both have been a huge part of our success and we could not have gotten where we are without each one of these special ladies! We would never want say 'goodbye' (that's too final) so we simply say, 'so long and see you in class'!

When change like this happens there's always a lot of gossip (is someone pregnant? was there a conflict? On both counts-NO) so let's try and keep that to a minimum and realize that people's lives change. Period. It happens. Nothing is forever even though we may want it to be so. There doesn't always have to be a story behind everything-it can simply be that change was needed for someone, which causes change for others too!

J. Inc. embraces change-it is what has kept us 'in it' for the last 40 years and we're going to be embracing change as well, here in Chelmsford. Again, we would like things to stay the same, but we know they cannot. Lack of change makes things stagnant and a successful business can never be stagnant!

~Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending~ Maria Robinson

So, as we welcome a new instructor (KA) to our team and say, again, simply 'so long' to 2 important folks from our team, we will go forward knowing that we're here, offering great classes with terrific instructors and all enjoying the dance together!

See you on the dancefloor!
